I just wanted to share with you that I have a gorgeous funky new white 10.2" Eee PC Netbook.

This is the kind of silly blog post that Rohan would write… but I just wanted to share with you that I have a gorgeous funky new white 10.2″ Eee PC Netbook (100HE model).

So I am now able to work away from home.

“But John,” you ask, “didn’t you already have a laptop?”

Yes, about that. I bought a very sexy HP Pavilion 17″ notebook. And while it is genuinely beautiful and awesome, it is a little too big to really take places. (It’s more of a desktop replacement than a notebook in its own right. I use it at home with a Logitech laptop riser and wireless keyboard and an additional monitor.)

Isn’t technology glorious?

Anyway now I’ll be able to do video chat from my garden, or work on my writing on the train… and perhaps even live tweet/blog from important events.

Oh, speaking of ‘important events’ I’ll be in Sydney this weekend for a few talks about blogging as part of the Sydney Writers’ Festival. I am really looking forward to listening to some really cool people talk technology and its applications, and generally just visiting Sydney again (which is my home away from home.)

Anyway dear friends I apologise in advance for all the “first” moments that I will probably just subject you to in the coming days… though since I mention it, here’s the first Dailybooth photograph taken with the Eee PC’s inbuilt webcam.

Fun times ahead!
