Reminds my of my own miss-communication of a phone call I received while I was at the Midwest Gathering. I got a call from a friend who had flown into town for only that night, and it has been months since I've seen her. We'll call her "Melissa" for now. While I am in Downtown Minneapolis hanging out with cool people from YouTube, Melissa calls and tells me she is at the Mall of America and that she will be going to the Marriott Hotel. MY CAR was parked at the Mall of America, and I would have to take the light rail to go back and get it. I told them to wait for me.

45 minutes later the light rail lets me off at the Mall of America Station, and I drove two blocks to the Marriott which is between the Mall and the Airport. I call Melissa again and she says she is waiting in the Lounge, and that some of my other friends are there, and more are on the way.

I go into the lounge, and Melissa isn't there. I call her again, and then she explains that she is at the downtown Minneapolis Marriott, not the Airport/Mall Marriott. >:| I WAS JUST DOWNTOWN! And I was so proud of myself that day for taking the light rail twice and walking 4 miles that I simply wasn't in the mood to drive BACK into Minneapolis, pay for parking, and by that time, I would only have 30 minutes of time to hang out or less before I would have to go home, get changed, and go to work, BACK in Minneapolis!

I suppose this story wasn't entirely related, but it has to do with mobile phones and miss-communication and wasted time. I am still upset at "Melissa" which is her real name, FTW.

I know what you mean.... I don't have time for that kind of shit. I usually give someone one or two goes before I just write them off all together. Family members included.
