The ability to register to this particular blog (for the purposes of comments, primarily) has been turned off. This is because:

• It has become apparent that a lot of non-genuine users (spammers and the like) have registered with this blog in the past few months.
• Registered user comments deprive the commenter of an opportunity to promote their own website/blog, instead linking to a WordPress profile.
• My initial concern that people may impersonate other users seems largely unfounded.

I have deleted 44 user profiles from this blog that I believe to be from non-genuine users. I have also turned off the ability to register for this blog. You can still continue to leave comments (should you wish to do so) by simply entering your details into the comments section of any entry on this blog.

There are a handful of users who I know to be genuine who will still be able to log in and comment in the old fashioned style should they wish. Simply:

Its time to reflect on the best YouTube videos of 2007. YouTube staff make the nominations, but it is the users that decide who wins! This year we are very excited that our very good friend Sam Proof (pictured) is up for a possible gong in the Instructional Category.

Below are my personal recommendations. I haven’t included a recommendation for every category. Indeed as someone who doesn’t routinely watch “featured” content on youtube, I haven’t seen many of the videos. There are, however, some personal stand outs.

There will be no “Oh both Hillary and Obama are awesome” fence-sitting here. No. When I think of funny, I think of SamProof. But not only is he funny, he can also be educational! When he enlightened the world on the merits of zine making people were enthralled. And I am delighted to say that I have a copy of his zine sitting on my desk even as I type.

Also, we note soberly that at no point during the Presidential Race did anyone come out to confess having a crush on Hillary Clinton. Not even her husband. Just sayin’.

eHow.com is a site featuring step-by-step instructions on how to do all manner of things, ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. I frequently am amazed and amused by the fodder that finds its way into their daily mailing list contributions.

I was so intrigued with this latest offering that I had to share it with you!

The Club Soda quite literally acts as a shampoo substitute… the carbonated water apparently “removing impurities” including chlorine. Woah! There is a whole new diversification opportunity here for the Coca-Cola Company, surely?!
