Somebody recently asked me what was on my Christmas list. I was a little thrown. Truth be told I don’t have a Christmas list per se. Christmas is a wonderful time where we (my immediate and extended family) get together and enjoy each other’s company and too much decadent food. Sure, there are a few gifts. But even on these occassions people scarcely asked me what I wanted… or what I had on my list.
So, at any rate, I am going to attempt to make a list. You can check it twice. Eh, I’m just dreaming aloud. I don’t really expect anything.
iTunes Vouchers
I’m not an Apple fanboy like some of my friends but I have fallen in love with the Apple iTunes store and my iPod shuffle. I frequently download audiobooks and have been making a wishlist of songs (rare tracks, remixes) I’d like to download… one day. (Caveat: Note only vouchers from the Australian iTunes store work for me. I once won a US voucher and had to give it away since I couldn’t use it.)
Pamela Call Recorder
This is a Skype add on that I use to record the JOJCAST episodes with. I currently use the free version which is wonderful but limits recordings to 15 minutes at a time. The full version would be awesome.
QuickTime 7 Pro For Windows
I’m sure I said minutes ago I wasn’t an Apple fanboy? 2009 is shaping up to be a big year for the JohnOfJordan empire (or JOJDOM if you will) and the Pro version of QuickTime 7 has some cool features which will play into my dastardly plans nicely. (Sorry. I can’t tell you anymore.)
Cafepress Merchandise
Prices vary since designers set their own mark ups… but how awesome would it be to own a Sam Proof Mug or a Team Mothman Ringer T-Shirt? Or how about a Cafepress Gift Certificate?
Charity Donations and Merchandise
Why not donate to a charity on my behalf? That would be cool. I am a big fan of The Australian Koala Foundation, Guidedogs of NSW/ACT and Oxfam Australia.
A Heartfelt Sentiment
Sometimes its nice just to know someone is thinking of you. An email, an ecard, a physical card, a drawing, a photograph, a postcard, a letter, a poem, a song. That stuff means a lot.
Subscription
It’s the gift that keeps on giving! You could subscribe to this blog, the JohnOfJordan website (via RSS) or the JOJCAST (via iTunes) or JohnOfJordan (via YouTube). When people take an interest in my projects it makes me very happy. You get a present, I get a present – AND IT’S FREE! Don’t know about RSS? Watch this video.
World Peace?
Oh. Nevermind.

What if I donated money on your behalf to help put a school chaplain in a primary school? Wouldn’t that be delightfully ironic?
For people who don’t mind ecards, here are some beautiful, animated ecards for Christmas.
